From Mindspillage

I've almost never failed to get along with the good friends of my good friends, and spending time with those people even when I don't know them very well has usually been a good decision. One of the things that would make Facebook more useful (but add an unbearably huge layer of awkwardness) is being able to see the strengths of connections.
